Seattle

Last minute decisions always make for the best memories. My husband Ryan works in the film industry which has long, and i mean looong, every changing hours. After just passing one another in transit for over a week he finally got the day off. Off we went, packed the boys up, made sure to not bring any kinder eggs (ha!) and remembered to make sure none of our passports and nexus cards were expired. (if you read my post on Cuba, you'll understand why)   It's pretty trippy to be able to travel to another country and back again in the course of a day. It took a pal from Aus to message me in total awe to realize this....

Thanksgiving in the Woods

After a few weeks of colds and not so good vibes in the house, we decided to escape to Ryans mums new place in the woods near Princeton, about 3 hours away. Imagine 5 acres in the middle of nowhere with trailers from the Seventies. This was my kinda Thanksgiving with the boys and Bella (my old pup). Isaac and Zig roasted Marshmallows, Zig freaked because his hands got sticky, and we wandered through the woods and because Bella isn't exactly a ferocious K9 I was fairly certain we would all be eaten by bears. I was wrong! We had a vvvv memorable Thanksgiving this year and maybe next year we will find a trailer from the sixties to eat...

Sea to Sky

Like clockwork Saturday morn rolled around and we packed up and were out of the house by 8 AM. We were en route to Whistler until we realized the FOUR THOUSAND cyclists were part of a big event and were ALL going to Whistler Village. We drove right on past because helllooooooo, too many skin tight shorts and we didn't wanna scar the boys for life. JK I just get bad anxiety in overcrowded places.   We decided to hit up Pemberton for lunch, then continued onto Joffre Lakes Provincial Park and got passed on the 5 minute hike (my thighs were still burning) by practically everyone. Isaac walked right out into the water on the stones. Ryan hollered to...

Golden Ears

I always wanted to live in the city, Vancouver never sleeps and the sound of cars and glow of lights at night was always so alluring. Being born and raised in Maple Ridge (about 45 minutes outside the city) when someone asked where I was from, I felt like saying Maple Ridge made me not as cool as someone from the city. It wasn't until the boys joined our fam that I realized I FUCKING LOVE THE SUBURBS. Maple Ridge is SO beautiful, we live 10 minutes from the mountains, lakes, rivers. There's no shortage of things to do and places to see and that's the beauty of living here. We live in a 4 bedroom town home with a...

On Sundays We Road Trip

" On Wednesdays we wear pink "and in our case ... "On Sundays we road trip." This time we drove to Logan Lake , BC. We stopped by this site where a retired Dump Truck and Digger from a local mine now act as a roadside attraction. The boys lost their miiiiiinds when we pulled up (in my new Honda CR-V (!!!) I went from a 1999 VW jetta with a broken door and no AC to a 2016 LUXE suv. I cried when I saw you push a goddam button to start it ?? !)  ANYWAYS, it was a fun pit-stop and we highly recommend it the next time you're making the Vancouver - Okanogan Drive.   Deets : Isaac...
